At this phase, physical strength usually diminishes significantly as well as mental stability. Also as people age, their health deteriorates. Some of the most common diseases that usually affect the elderly are high blood pressure, diabetes, heart failure issues, arthritis, cancer malignancy, joint pains, tuberculosis, as well as kidney infections.

It's not only about diseases, there are other issues that may negatively affect the health of the old people. One of the main issues is the negligence from the younger generation and the people closer to them. Old people need to be monitored and properly cared for.

For 4 years now, as one of Ransom & Restore Ministries flagships, the organization has been bringing relief and comfort to the needy elderly by providing them foodstuff gift hampers on a monthly basis. Every month the RRM Elderly Care team visits their homes, conversing with them, encouraging them, praying with them, as well as giving them the hope and Love of GOD in Christ Jesus our LORD. 

On April 20-22, 2024 the Elderly Care team was happy to visit and successfully delivered foodstuff gift hampers to the needy elderly. This comprised of rice, beans, sugar, frying oil, porridge flour, washing soap and tea leaves. The elderly received the gifts with so much joy! 

One older widow, Shutu(82 years) as a sign of gratitude to R&RM, was very much happy to bless R&RM with a hen. She really beseeched us to receive the hen. Wow! The hen started laying eggs the next day! The hen is kept and remains a gift to the elderly. What a blessing!
