In the remote, sun-scorched paths of Bamba — a land plagued by poverty and prolonged drought — a familiar sound stirs hearts long before it reaches the door. It is not just the sound of a motorbike; it is the sound of love approaching. The Ransom and Restore Ministries Elderly Care Team is coming. And to the elderly here, many of them widows with no family left to care for them, that sound means everything.

Since 2020, this team has journeyed month after month to bring not only food but also companionship, dignity, and the embrace of Christ’s love. The moment the motorbike is heard, those with strength in their bones rise from their mats and come to meet the team. Their feet may be tired, their hands worn, but their faces light up with joy that words cannot express.

But this visit is special. It is Easter.
And in this season of resurrection, where despair once lingered, hope rises again. In their small mud huts, as they open their packages with trembling hands, many break into prayer. They bless the givers — people they have never met — whose kindness has kept them going. Some sing. Others cry. The joy of Easter, the promise of new life, is reflected in every act of generosity, a mirror of Christ’s love poured out.
The parcels they receive contain life-sustaining essentials — rice, cooking oil, sugar, tea leaves, washing soap, toiletries, porridge flour, and beans. For some, this is the only consistent help they receive. For all, it is a symbol of being remembered — especially on this holy day, when love overcame death and hope triumphed.
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." — Isaiah 46:4

Each visit brings tears of gratitude and quiet songs of praise. These mothers and grandmothers — weathered by life, often alone — sit and whisper prayers of thanks not only to God, but for the people they’ve never met: the givers. Those who, moved by compassion, choose to share what they have so someone else can eat, wash, and live with dignity.
"And if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness..." — Isaiah 58:10

To every generous giver, thank you. Your sacrifice is sacred. Your giving has become an answered prayer. This Easter, you are the hands of Christ stretched across the miles, touching lives in a place the world often overlooks. And when we see the elderly break into smiles, press their hands in prayer, or softly say “Asante sana,” we know — your love has arrived
As long as that motorbike keeps coming, hope keeps living.
And this Easter, that hope shines even brighter.
